The motto of future mobility should be „Please, no faster horses!“ Henry Ford said that if he had asked his customers, they would have wanted faster horses – not cars. Incremental innovation instead of disruptive transformation.

And today? With the introduction of the electric vehicle, will we become the next Ford – or will we remain horse breeders? How will the shared electric AV actually become the big bang of a new mobility universe?

On the occasion of the VDI conference DRITEV 2023 Thomas Sauter-Servaes gave a keynote speech in Baden-Baden on 6 July 2023. Under the motto „The three components of the transport revolution: electric, shared and autonomous“, he shed light on the above questions from different perspectives.

DRITEV is the former transmission conference of the VDI Association of German Engineers and is one of the largest congresses for drive technology in Europe with 600-800 participants every year.
